Artwork Information:
Our 5th grade artists journeyed into the dreamlike world of Surrealism, drawing inspiration from the iconic works of Salvador Dalí. After studying Dalí’s famous “melting clocks,” students brought their own visions to life by sculpting expressive, melting timepieces from foam clay and wire. Each clock, full of personality and imagination, seems to float effortlessly across a vivid sunset, hand-painted onto a 24x24 wooden panel.
This collaborative piece explores the mysteries of time, transformation, and creativity. The sunset backdrop glows with warm, blended colors, setting a magical scene where reality bends and clocks melt. Together, our 5th graders invite viewers to pause, wonder, and step into a world where time is as fluid and imaginative as art itself.
